I wrote essay about his life of how he was before and after his baseball career. I have learned a lot him that I didn't know about him. I learned that he had military career for 2 years before baseball. He was charged with it when he didn't want to sit in the back of the bus and "disrespected" the officers that was trying to arrest him. Isn't that crazy!? He also won many different awards. Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1984, Congressional Gold Medal 1984, Major League Baseball All-Century Team in 1999, and Spingard Medal in 1956. He had a rough time trying to get in pro baseball. He kept getting rejected but he never gave up. Eventually, he got signed to a $400/month contract. He was doing really good, so he when into major baseball league and was doing so good that he got in the hall of fame in 1962. Shortly after he retired in 1972, he died.
History: Other Colored legends
I did a presentation on other colored baseball legends because I want all of them to be known just as much as Robinson was.
Art: Jackie Robinson baseball cards
I created this baseball card to show what Robinson influenced in the past and in the future. The pictures behind him are the ones he influenced back then in the 1900's. I put a picture of his old baseball photo and the events that happened after he past away. When he past, people started to fight harder and harder to not have segregation to everything. The pictures in front of him are the things that are going on in present time. Now, people have made statues, posters, etc about him and he also gave people hope.
I made this to be plain but straight forward. I really liked the way this card came out. It really looks like something that would make you stop and think.
Same thing with this card, It's straight forward and simple.
