I decided to do my first Apollo project on mass shootings in the United States because from 1966 to 2012, nearly a third of the world's mass shootings took place in the United States. A 2016 study looked at 292 incidents in which four or more people were killed. It found 90 of them occurred in America. Put another way: While the United States has about 5% of the world's population, it had 31% of all public mass shootings. This study was made 2 years ago, but America is still the country leading in public mass shootings. They was a threat sent around Central York School District about someone who was going to shoot up the school, we didn't go to school for 3 day because this person was to afraid to come clean to the police. The world we live in is so corrupted that 6 and 7 year olds are afraid to go to school because they think that they are going to not come home after school. I think that this project is really relevant to today because there are so many mass shootings today in America and no one is doing anything about it, so I tried to show what the government did wrong and how they could have so many things to stop this before it got this bad.
