I started my etsy business, MoonTattoo, in May of 2016. I soon realized that running a shop while in school was more idfficult than I anticipated. Knowing this, I dedicated an entire Apollo project to growing and expanding my business. Over the coursre of these couple weeks I have added new listings, designs, videos, and promotions. My goal was to find te best ways of marketing in order to make my sales grow.
These are the designs that I have added to my shop over the course of the month of Decemeber. Some of these designs were chosen by my customers. My audience was able to pick color schemes and subject m atter through the chart that is shown to the right. As an artist making art for other people, it can be difficult to know what my customers want. By me creating this chart and posting it to my social media, it gives my followers the opportunity to get the tattoos, stickers, or pins that they really want. From this chart I completed a digital drawing for A-3, K-10, and C-11. All of these designs sold very well once they were listed onto my shop.
An important part of maintaining a online store is the look. Your viewers, and potential customers, want a user friendly automsphere. If an online shop doesn't have an organized layout, a lot of people will automatically turn away. In order for me to create a more organized shop, I added some things.
Starters, I took a couple photos of tattoos on skin. Most of my listings are just digital drawings for the images. Its fair to say that my auidence wanted to see what their tattoos will look like on skin. So, I did take some photos of tattoos on myself.
Another way I created a more user friendly automsphere was by creating sections. This way, people can find what they want easier and quicker. These sections were nature/floral, black and white, text, animal, and colorful.
Lastly, I made a Q&A. I get lots of inboxes about my listings. In order to help people understand my shop better, I listed my most asked questions and the answers. These can be found under all of my listings.
By 5 orders, December was my top selling month. It is also my second highet month for revenue. Even though I had the most orders, it depends on what is bought within those orders that determines how much revenue is made. So, through marketing on socail media, new designs and products, and re-setting up my store, I was able to have a small growth in my sales. My business did expand due to the amount of store favorites I recieved and favorites within my listings. All in all, this was an extremely sucessful project.
