I took the idea of replacing negative thoughts with positive thoughts and put it into art. I had a friend write negative, hurtful words on my body. Then, I took and danced with paint to cover up the words. The songs that I used all tied back to the battle of body image. To document my video, I set up three ipads at different angles and recorded. I have edited the video clip together to create a video expressing body image in a unique way.
I used the songs that I danced to and analyzed them. I broke them down into small sections and found a deeper meaning for each song. Then I picked one song and used it to inspire me to write a short story on body image.
For my research, I created a mind map. The bubbles were quotes from the books I read. My main book was Perfect Girls, Starving Daughters. It had a lot of real life stories in it and quoted many people. My mind map had further connections for each stem. Then I took actual facts to support all my connections from my books. I used all this information to put together a voice over for my art portion. The combination of my art and social studies will give me a unique educational video on body image.
